My name is Tara Cosoleto and I’m a radio journalist at SBS World News in Melbourne. I am also a Match Day Producer for the Australian Football League, producing videos for the AFL website and smartphone app.
Alongside this work, I am completing my final year of a Bachelor of Communication (Journalism) at RMIT University. My portfolio of work from my final semester can be viewed here.
This year, I have interned at various news organisations in Melbourne, and have had worked published for SBS World News Radio, ABC Rural’s Country Hour programs, The Leader Newspapers, and The Age. I have also been a match reporter for the 2017 AFL International Cup, covering the European Crusaders team for AFL Europe.
Throughout my degree, I have volunteered at Melbourne’s SYN 90.7FM. At SYN, I have worked as a reporter for the news and current affairs program Panorama, creating over 50 radio features for the show. I was also the Panorama Assistant Producer in 2016 and have been a midday news reader, presenting live hourly bulletins one day a week.
I have also had written work published across online and print publications. I have been a weekly AFL columnist for online publications, Bound for Glory News and The Roar Sports Media. I have also contributed to RMIT’s Catalyst Magazine, both as a writer and an Editorial Committee member, and Places Magazine.
