Practice Hard News Story- Gangland Funeral

Hi readers!

Here is the last tutorial exercise for the year! Once again, this is relating to covering incidents in an ethical and legal manner.

The fake-scenario we were reporting on was a gangland funeral. We had to be particularly careful about the certain quotes or information we used because there were potential defamation cases everywhere.

We were told to send out two tweets on the funeral (one prior to it and one after) and we were also told to write three briefs on follow up funeral incidents.

  2. Heated scenes as Williamson’s coffin removed from the church. Media and relatives clash verbally.

Police are investigating whether two men, who had been at Williamson’s funeral, were involved.

According to Police, Williamson’s daughter is among the children who have been subject to cyber-bullying.

Police are investigating a 65-year-old man over alleged sexual assaults and living off the earnings of prostitution.

Three women have come forward and told police the man threatened them with violence unless they participated in the prostitution gang.
